Wildlife and landscapes

I am a mixed media artist and designer, interested in the flora and fauna of the South West and its unique plant heritage.

Since moving to Sidmouth in 2016 I have been inspired by its arboretum and the exotic specimen trees. This selection has been enriched by its close proximity to the original Veitch Nursery, one of the most influential of the Victorian plant collectors.

I have spent the last year visiting the arboretum on Streatham Campus: University of Exeter to create 2 pieces of artwork depicting it through the seasons. Giclee prints are available to order of these artworks.

The Victorians enthusiasm for plant collecting has left a fantastic legacy in this area, which I have sought to showcase in my work.

Recently 'Forest Bathing', the concept of walking through a treescape, has become a popular pass time, and the University of Exeter grounds and the Sid Valley offer the perfect environment for this.

Our mild climate in the South West supports a rich variety of biodiversity which provides me with a kaleidoscope of ideas and inspiration for my designs and paintings.
